![]() Note that directories must be visited first before they can be jumped to. Autojump is smart, and it will favorize directories you visit more frequently.įor example j stanko will take me to my blog directory ( /Users/stanko/) instead of my home folder ( /Users/stanko) because I navigate to the prior one more often. Using provided j command, you can jump around filesystem using fuzzy search. It works by maintaining a database of the directories you use the most from the command line. autojump #Īutojump is a faster way to navigate your filesystem. ![]() I have been using for a few years now and migrating my config to every new machine I use. Includes autocompletion, themes, aliases, custom functions and more. Requires same system tweak as TotalFinder.Īs a bonus here are my two favorite bash tools. Haven't used in a long time, but you may want to give it a try. I had some problems with it long ago (can't remember what it was) so I switched to TotalFinder. You need to disable System Integrity Protection (don't worry, you can enable it once app is installed). There is a catch - both application require system tweak to install. TotalFinder and XtraFinder both fix that to an extent, by adding things like tabs, dual mode, cut and more. I always felt Finder is missing a lot of features. It supports all of the archive formats you'll ever need. Unarchiver does exactly what it's name suggests. Well, this is probably the most popular (I just realized Unarchiver was acquired by MacPaw, hopefully they'll keep it free and simple. All that by using using customizable global shortcuts. Simple window manager - move windows around, across workspaces, resize them. It is a tiny calendar with option to show your calendar events.īy default it displays small calendar icon, with current date in it.Ĭustom date formats are supported as well, allowing you replace Mac's clock completely. If you ever were annoyed by the fact Mac has no built-in calendar in the menu bar, you'll love Itsycal. Tapping on touch bar will make your trackpad vibrate(?!) to give you haptic feedback. I already ranted about the touch bar, and this app makes it a little bit more bearable. Simple clipboard manager, stores what you copied allowing you to quickly find it. So here they are in the alphabetical order: AppCleaner #ĪppCleaner is a small application which allows you to thoroughly uninstall unwanted apps. It seems that most people are not aware of these, so I decided to share a list.Īll of them are free (with the exception of TotalFinder), and if you like them, consider donating to authors. ) My setup includes a bunch of small apps I found over the years. ( This comic describes my setup pretty accurately. Is there a way to move the fuzzy slider and have it display on the screen everything it has found as you move the slider so you can set the fuzzy level to just the right level? Maybe something in the menu that is a check for “Active Fuzzy Image Display” when the display box is checked.Recently I switched to a new laptop and had to set it up to my likings. Changed it to front window and Window with index of 1 but still no luck have the time. I have moved the slider all over the place to see if I can get it to work. Even when I run it on the same Finder window I took it on Keyboard Maestro doesn’t find the image. Strange thing is this macro only works ocationally I can’t seem to get a consistent screenshot. It is like it has a limit to how wide it will go. So this may not actually solve the original problem.įor me what broke is it does resize all the columns in El Capitan but it still truncates some of the longer file names. In all sincerity thanks Keyboard Maestro and this forum for again helping people enhance their workflow, I love you!Īs far as I can see, option-double-clicking on column the separators no longer resizes all columns, it only resizes one column to fit. ![]() Now if there were only some app that let you drag folders into other folders and keep coping and nesting folders and files like Windows has done for 15+ years instead of giving you the option to replace like Mac does. "Show colorful icons on the sidebar" is wonderful to have back again after all these years! I can actually tell what is what again much faster. I understand why they got rid of it when they added multiple colors as part of tags, Xtra Finder is smart and just colors it the last color or tag color in your list if you have multiple. Thanks for pointing that out I wouldn't have found that if you hadn't mentioned it, I had to reread multiple times to find even when you did point it out, it is named "Legacy label color painting". ![]() The two things I love it for are the aforementioned column resizing and the ability to color color file names by tag, rather than just display the colored dot. ![]()
